With a booming offer of organic orchards, traditional markets and a wide variety of signature cuisine restaurants, San Miguel de Allende has positioned itself as one of the most important gastronomic destinations in Mexico.

During May and June, 120 restaurants pay homage to this diverse gastronomic scene during the bimonthly San Miguel Gourmet festival.

The festival starts with chef Palma and his friends in restaurant Rosewood Hotel 1826, where three chefs of different nationalities prepare unique dishes.

Other events that take place are “Five chefs, five times, five hours” at the Hotel Casa de Aves; where the culinary experience is taken to a whole new level, surrounded by a beautiful natural landscape.

The Festival of lamb and mezcal is another of the food & drink events that take place every year in San Miguel.

The sample of traditional cuisine at the botanical garden of “El Charco del Ingenio” is also a must-see.
