On Tuesday January 24, with the presence of governor Domínguez Servién, the Regional Delivery Center for the Americas (Centro de Entrega Regional para las Américas) was inaugurated.
And along with the “Centro Regional“, the governor announced the opening of the “Innovation and Technology Forum”(Foro de Innovación y Tecnología) organized by Deloitte Corporate Queretaro, financial global company that provides strategic advisory services and M&A advice.
The national managing partner of the company, Jorge Castilla Ortuño, said that by 2020 the project contemplates a total investment of 380 million pesos (15.2 million USD), generating one thousand jobs in the state.
Francisco Domínguez Servién, Governor of Querétaro, declared: “Today, during the inauguration of this group’s facilities, we confirm two very important things: one, the United States relies on Querétaro, and Querétaro relies on the United States; and two, this year we expect the arrival of 18 billion pesos (900 million USD) of investment to our state, of which 50 percent is capital from the United States. “
“I can confirm that none of the investments made have been postponed or canceled; whatosoever. On the contrary, new investments will be announced in the near future, and many foreing companies in the state are expanding their operations.”
According to INEGI, from January to November 2016, the value of production of the manufacturing industry grew 10.3 percent compared to the same period in 2015; representing 22 billion pesos (1 billion USD).
“One of the most productive industries is the manufacture of transportation equipment, which includes automotive and aeronautics, and that represents 26.5 percent of the total state production. I have no doubt that together, we will continue to generate good news for Querétaro, Mexico and the world, ” the governor said.
Regarding the Regional Delivery Center for the Americas (Centro de Entrega Regional para las Américas), Domínguez Servién stressed that, with the opening of this center, Querétaro will enter a new era of digital innovation and technological development, providing support and consulting services to other countries throughout the continent.
In this sense, the “Information Technology” sector will be strengthen in the state. And the company will start hiring people next month.
Meanwhile, the Secretary for Sustainable Development, Marco del Prete Tercero, underlined that in 2016 the Information Technology sector contributed four percent of the value of manufacturing production in the state, and grew 2.5 percent compared to 2015. In addition he emphasized that the software industry represents 2 percent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
