Congratulations to the winners of Rotary’s annual Feria de Hotcakes! First prize went to Santuario Felino Rey Ashoka, A.C., which has two cat shelters here. Second prize went to Kristen West of the Pina Azul Cooking School. Third prize went to Gina Giampaoli and John Alderton. The biggest prize of all, however, was that proceeds are helping Rotary reforest, give scholarships, and eradicate polio from the world.
Those who enjoyed the day most included the children from Santuario Hogar Guadalupano, locally known as the Mexiquito boys’ home; Casa Hogar Santa Julia, the girls’ home; Centro Infantil San Pablo, a day care, and the Escuela de Education Especial, the school for the hearing impaired.
Special thanks to Gravity Kids, who soared like ballerinas, and volunteers who painted faces, as well as all the donors of supplies and raffle prizes.
Rotary is where neighbors, friends and problem solvers share ideas, join leaders and take action to create lasting change. For more information, contact President Nate Fultz at [email protected] and see RotarySMAMidday.org.
