SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE, Gto.- According to Leticia Fernández de Noyola, Directing Council President of the Red Cross, during the year 2016, a total of 6, 208 services were provided by San Miguel de Allende’s Red Cross, and 96% of them were totally free of any charge for the patients.
In an event with municipal authorities, Red Cross Personnel, businessmen and citizens of SMA, Fernández de Noyala stressed that, all residents, as well as national and international tourists can be sure that any emergency call will be attended by San Miguel’s Red Cross as soon as possible.
“In any accident, health emergency or incident, don’t hesitate to call the Red Cross, they will arrive within minutes to provide the proper serivices.” Fernández de Noyola said.
“Our paramedics and operators are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to provide first aid and other emergency medical services, they will arrive on time and they are well trained and prepared, ” said the president, who is about to complete three years of being in charge of the aforementioned institution.
During the past year, the Red Cross provided 6,208 services, and 1,700 of those to domestic and foreign tourists.
She continued, “On 2016, the annual collection to support this imporant institution reached $528,550 pesos ($27,500 USD) that were used for equipment and training”.
Fernandez de Noyola concluded, “260 thousand pesos are required monthly for operations, since we have to pay for fuel, ambulance maintenance, medical equipment and supplies, payroll, building maintenance and cleaning, training material, stationery and services.
