Municipal government provides economic support for housing

SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE, Gto.- Through the governmental program “Housing Improvement”, a total of 670 San Miguel families have been benefited, with the delivery of construction material to improve their properties’ condition. Authorities stated that almost 6 million pesos (300,000 USD) have been invested in the municipality.

The delivery ceremony was attended by Ricardo Villarreal García, Mayor of San Miguel de Allende, Pavel Hernández, Trustee; Rubén González, Commission for Social and Human Development President and municipal counselor; Osvaldo García, Director of Social and Human Development, and Laura Espinoza, delegate of the community of San Valente.

“The housing improvement program is part of initiative known as ‘United for Your Family’ (Unidos por tu familia), which have impacted more than 9,000 families.  By the end of 2017, the number of credits delivered in our municipality will be exactly the same like 2016″, said Villarreal.

Ricardo Villareal explained that, San Miguel de Allende is the municipality that provides the lrgest number of these kind of credits to citizens in average per capita, since 9,000 homes out of 42,000 have a municipal support.

In the esplanade of the City Hall, 2,000 people gathered to receive the mentioned support. The municipal government delivered 670 construction material kits, 520 of them include roof tile, whose investment is for 3,986.578 pesos (195,000 USD).

Cement and sheets of asbestos to cover an area of ​​2,170 square meters were also delivered to 80 families, along with 70 construction material kits (1,500 partitions, 15 cement bundles, 15 mortar bundles and 8 armex and wire) with an investment of 800 thousand pesos (40,000 USD).
