Join Joseph Toone, TripAdvisor’s top rated San Miguel de Allende walking tour guide and award-winning history author of San Miguel de Allende Secrets series of books, to tour the oldest active cemetery in town every Sunday in March. Every society in history is studied for how the dead are treated, including present day San Miguel de Allende.  For nearly two hours you’ll enjoy the history behind what we do in today’s SMA like:
funny tomb1
·         How to identify local Virgins
·         Why we are the epicenter for both the cult of the cross and witchcraft
·         How we bring back the deceased for yet one more fiesta
·         The legends behind Mesoamerican tomb offerings
·         Paupers graves and importance of paying of your tomb rent

The walking is flat with plenty of places to sit, perhaps on a crypt.  Tours are being held every Sunday in March at 9:30 AM, or by appointment.  Tours are 400 pesos each or 20 USD.  Private tours upon request at no extra charge.
Please contact Joseph Toone at JosephTooneTours.com, or [email protected] to reserve your spaces as due to both the recent popularity and sensitive nature of the tour, spacing is limited.
