Mayor Rosendo Anaya informed that the municipal government has invested more than 100 million pesos in public works during 2016 and 2017, and added that they expect to receive the appointment this year.

“In the meantime, we have prepared a project to improve urban image, with a budget of 11 million pesos to remodel the main square, rescue several facades and to install an underground wiring system”, Anaya said.

Amealco can achieve one of the 10 distinctions issued this year by the Secretary of Tourism (Sectur), since the current municipal administration has been working on the development of this important project for more than a year.

With the Pueblo Magico recognition, Amealco plans to achieve a breakthrough in the number of visitors with a significant economic impact. Currently, 100,000 people visit this town a year, leaving an economic spill of 50 million pesos.
