SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE, Gto — After the Easter holiday 2017, a national public tender will be published seeking entrepreneurs from all the country that are interested in the construction of San Miguel de Allende’s new airport, to present their projects. This was announced by Ricardo Villarreal, Mayor of San Miguel de Allende.
“Today, San Miguel de Allende presents the necessary conditions to have an International Airport. That’s the reason to make this pubic tender, and we will give the opportunity to all national investors to participate in one of the most ambitious aeronautical projects in Mexico. However, until a winner will be announced, we cannot present any project,” Villarreal said.

Once the process is completed, the firm that presents the best project and the best conditions for the city, will receive the concession for the construction and operation of this airport.
The airport of San Miguel de Allende will be developed where the aerodrome is currently located, in the community of San Julián, a few minutes from the municipality.
Among the works, the current runway will be expanded to 1,840 square meters in order to receive domestic and international commercial flights.
