The International Readers’ Fair of Yucatán (FILEY) was founded by the “Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán” to celebrate its 90th anniversary, and currently represents one of the most important cultural spaces at international level.
So far, six editions have taken place, achieving a large success and great acceptance among the Yucatecan population. It should be noted that in the last edition there was an attendance of approximately 200,000 visitors.
The book fair is a festival that aims to become a point of reference for publishers, authors, academics and creators of diverse artistic manifestations, for them to promote reading, and other cultural expressions such as theater, music, dance and cinema, among others.
A characteristic component of each FILEY edition is to establish cooperative ties for cultural development among countries, states, cities and higher education institutions at national and international levels.
