The company Diseño Inteligente Global presented in Leon, Guanajuato their new “Intelligent Tree”, which they seek to install throughout the city thinking about the future.
The presentation of the “Intelligent Tree” in operation was within Calzado Brantano business center.
The Intelligent Tree is a design that seeks to be installed in public areas and open spaces, mainly in parts of the city where there is a lack of technological infrastructure.
The main objective is to integrate in a single project the provision of lighting and wireless Internet access through the autonomous generation of renewable energy.
The “Forest of Light” project consists of “trees” made of a metal structure covered with steel sheets that form a geometric and abstract shape (of a “futurist” tree).
Also, this piece of technological furniture has an island system of solar panels located in strategic areas of the structure.
The “Intelligent Tree” captures solar energy and reflects it throug the night time, serving as a street lamp, as well as wireless Internet modem, in a range of up to 180 meters perimeter.
According to the company Diseño Inteligente Global, at least 100 people could be making use of the Internet at the same time.
For now it is a private project but they are looking for municipal, state and federal authorities to see into the future and consider the “Forest of Light” as feasible alternative for the city of León, and thenn other across Mexico.
Special guests were: Antonio Vega, undersecretary of Science, Technology and Innovation Promotion; Guillermo Romero, secretary of Economic Development; Aldelmo Reyes, of the Directorate of Economy; And the biologist and director of Environmental Management, Ricardo de la Parra.
