In a public statement, Emiliano Salinas Occelli, son of controversial former Mexican President Carlos Salinas de Gortari, declined to have any relationship with a cult dedicated to the sexual exploitation of women.

On Tuesday October 17, Emiliano Salinas stated that The New York Times published a story that links  the company known as “Executive Success Programs” (ESP), which he runs in Mexico, with alleged recent events related to women’s mistreatment, and Salinas says this statement was made “without any foundation”.

The son of the former president stated that although his name was not mentioned directly in the publication, people in social networks took advantage of the noise made by these news in Mexico to attack his “paternal name”, trying to link him directly with this situation, in an attempt to confuse the public opinion.  And he categorically rejected his involvement in any form of violence, subjugation, intimidation, pressure or abuse against any person, especially women.

On October 17, The New York Times revealed the modus operandi of the Nxivm Cult, posing as a self-help organization, but that, according to their investigation, deceive young ladies through a false “training” program”,  which in the end results in sexual exploitation against women.

According to The New York Timesthere is a secretive women’s group within Nxivm. Last March, five women gathered near Albany to enter the secret sisterhood, which they thought was about empowering women. But instead, they were forced to give naked photographs or other compromising material beforehand, as collateral if any information about the group was ever disclosed. Then, the women were told to undress, and one-by-one, they were branded by a doctor using a cauterizing device (as if they were cattle).

Nxivm headquarters are located in Albania, although it also operates in Canada and Mexico.

According to The New York Times, in Mexico, the company Executive Success Programs (ESP), directed by Carlos Emiliano Salinas Occelli, son of former president Carlos Salinas de Gortari, offers personal and professional development programs.

According to its website, ESP is a company dedicated to provide personal and professional development programs employing Keith Raniere’s revolutionary methodology, Rational Inquiry®. A breakthrough in human performance technology designed to help people discover, develop and utilize more of their untapped potential.

Emiliano Salinas Occelli, declared that in ESP, never, under any circumstances, any of their more than 16,000 clients has been coerced, pressured or forced to do anything against their will.”
