Write It Your Way
4 Sessions: Thursdays, January 11–February 1
Find your voice in this workshop for anyone who wants to write. Whether you are working on memoir, fiction or narrative nonfiction, want to start or just want to explore the possibilities, this workshop is dedicated to helping you make your story your own.
Everyone will write. We’ll explore our craft through free-writing, by looking at the work of master writers like Joan Didion, Alice Munro and John McPhee, and in weekly assignments. Each session includes writing, discussion, and presentation of your work.
Signe Hammer has taught writing workshops for 40 years, including 12 years as an Adjunct Associate Professor of Creative Writing at New York University, where she received an Award for Teaching Excellence. She has been an editor at both a major book publisher and a national magazine. She has published four nonfiction books, along with short stories, poetry, reviews and many national-magazine feature articles. Her memoir was selected as a New York Times Book Review Notable Book.
