1500 Guard troops arrive in Guanajuato; 1700 more on the way

1,500 military police officers of 3,200 that are expected, arrived to the state of Guanajuato on Tuesday, January 30 with the order of “Zero Tolerance” against criminals throughout the state. Any kind of suspicious activities will be immediately addressed by the law enforcement agents.

The remaining 1,700 military, will be incorporated gradually as the state Guanajuato features around 13,000 security officers among municipal, state and federal police, according to governor Miguel Márquez Márquez.

In regard to the agreements with the mayors, Márquez Márquez said that there will be some who will have to provide housing for the military to spend the night and have access to basic services.

In addition, Marquez said that the military officers will be working in all municipalities, coordinated by the State.
