From May 29 to June 12, Guanajuato will host the sixth edition of its International Gastronomy Summit which will be attended by representatives from 12 countries and will also host a Traditional Cuisine Encounter.
In the presentation of this summit in Mexico City, the Secretary of Tourism of Guanajuato, Fernando Olivera, reported that the culinary meeting will have a total of 47 events and 146 specific actions of gastronomic nature during the 15 days that will last.
Japan, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Colombia, Argentina, Panama, Brazil, Peru, Guatemala, Chile and Spain, are the nations that will attend this year’s event.
In addition, delegations from Mexico City and 14 Mexican states will be present (Tlaxcala, State of Mexico, Yucatan, San Luis Potosi, Queretaro, Oaxaca, Hidalgo, Veracruz, Aguascalientes, Zacatecas, Guerrero, Chiapas, Baja California and Puebla).
The Guanajuato localities that will host the main activities are Celaya, Guanajuato, Irapuato, León, Salamanca, San Francisco del Rincón, San Miguel de Allende, Mineral de Pozos, Silao, Salvatierra, Dolores Hidalgo and Atotonilco.
In total, 35 restaurants of Guanajuato will take part of the event, giving their stoves and grills to chefs from Argentina, Japan, Spain and Brazil. There will be 63 guest chefs, 15 of them from outside of Mexico.
