Movie actor Sylvester Stallone will fight a drug cartel in the movie Rambo 5, according to the latest information published in the Deadline entertainment and cinema news portal.
According to the publication, the fifth installment of the saga, which began in 1982 with First Blood, will begin shooting next September.
Stallone himself is working on the script with Avi Lerner, who has paired up with the actor on several occasions in movies such as The Expendables and will produce the new film of the Rambo franchise, an epic saga where Sylvester plays a war hero that, in spite of not abiding by military protocols, always achieves his goals.
It has also been said that the fifth installment of this saga might be directed by Stallone himself, but it is yet to be confirmed.
According to Deadline, in this new episode of the franchise, Rambo will cross the border between the United States and Mexico after learning that the daughter of one of his friends has been kidnapped.
Upon his arrival in Mexico, the veteran of the Vietnam war will find himself fighting one of the most violent drug cartels in the country.
Stallone hasn’t played Rambo since 2008. However, this new project is consistent with his revival of some emblematic characters such as Rocky. On that note, he is currently working on the second installment of Creed.
