SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE, Gto .- The San Miguel de Allende Municipal Police acquired five new patrol cars with an investment of 3.1 million pesos (155 thousand USD).
Mayor Ricardo Villarreal García stressed that the acquisition of the units was made using resources obtained by the Security Renforcement Program (Programa de Fortalecimiento de la Seguridad, Fortaseg).
The mayor along with Ricardo Benavides, Secretary of Security, delivered three double cab pick-up trucks and two sedan-type vehicles.
It was reported that the units have mobile radiocommunication equipment, in accordance with the guidelines and provisions requested by the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System.
The authorities pointed out that there are already 18 units that this administration has managed to endow the Ministry of Public Security, Municipal Transit and Civil Protection.
Additionally, 13 patrol cars were acquired on November 2016, five of them for Public Security, five for Municipal Transit, three units for Civil Protection and four more to the Mexican Army.
The authorities also informed that in the coming days, one more patrol car will be delivered to the Muncipal Police, in order for this force to provide greater security to the citizenship.
