A few days before the kick off of the 2018 World Cup in Russia, the amateur match plans begin to support the Mexican Soccer Team, including a lot of food and, of course, liters of beer.
To celebrate this union around soccer, several craft brewers have prepared special editions to support the Mexican national team. Cervecería Allende, for example, joined the passion decorating their bottles with commemorative labels.
“All you need to do is to go to watch a soccer game anywhere in Mexico, to realize the strong relationship between: beer and soccer”.
This situation inspired the independent brewer to design a label using graphic elements of different Mexico National Team jerseys throughout history, so each beer style has a different color. All labels have on the neck the number 12, which represents “Player # 12”, all Mexicansl.
In this peculiar way, Allende supports the Tricolor with a pack of Golden Ale and Brown Ale beers, which are the styles that Mexicans most seek.
Cervecería Allende is a Mexican company that was born in 2015 with the objective of creating high quality craft beers, which represents the traditions of San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, where it originates.
According to the Coordination of Promotion of Foreign Trade of Guanajuato, during 2017 Cervecería Allende managed to increase its exports from 500 to 4 thousand boxes, which destinations (besides Mexico) were countries such as the United States, Belgium, Spain and the United Kingdom. For 2019, the company aims to expand to China, where it has been well accepted through electronic commerce.
In 2017, the company registered an increase of 30% in exports compared to the previous year. Allende produces four beer styles: Golden Ale, Brown Ale, Agave Lager and IPA, which are distributed in Mexico through the La Europea, Soriana, Amazon and San Miguel de Allende stores.
During this edition of theWorld Cup, the matches will be broadcasted during the morning, so the most benefited drinks will be milk and juice. However, beer is one of the greatest Mexican traditions, so, Cerveceros de México, predicts that during the sports competition this alcoholic beverage will register a growth of 7% in production and 8% in sales.
