Mexicali, BC .- A section of the new border fence that is installed between the border of Calexico, California and Mexicali. Baja California; was on the verge of collapse after the foundations that support it could not resist the weight of the metal structure.

Baja California based newspaper “La Voz del Frontera” testified that the fence started to bend down, tilting approximately 35 degrees to the Mexican side, where residents alerted a the municipal police of Mexicali, that guarded the area to prevent an accident.

The border fence, whose official measures provided by the government of the United States are greater than 9 meters in height, is built on the margin of Avenida Colon Poniente, one of the main roads to the west of the city of Mexicali.

American construction workers immediately carried out corrective measures and adjustment actions on the border fence using cranes.

Last Monday June 4, during the 48th General Assembly of the OAS, Mexico’s Foreign Affairs Minister Luis Vidergaray, once again showed his rejection to the construction of the border wall and insisted on negotiation as a mechanism to resolve differences among the two countries.
