Guanajuato governor presents violence prevention plan

During the State Security Council meeting that took place on Friday May 24, in the state capital, the “Prevention of Violence and the Reconstruction of Social Fabric Program” (Programa de Prevención de la Violencia y la Reconstrucción del Tejido Social ) was officially launched as a transversal, territorial plan focused in institutional public policies to encourage the participation of society in coordination with public institutions.

The meeting was presided by governor Diego Sinhué Rodríguez Vallejo.

The plan contemplates 101 priority intervention zones and a catalog of 104 programs and / or social actions, that have been established in the following four areas:

1.- Legality, peaceful coexistence and equality

2.- Health, well-being and quality of life.

3.- Human development and social justice

4.- Community infrastructure and territorial cohesion.

The Interministerial Commission for the Social Prevention of Violence and Crime will be composed of 22 units that will focus on education, health, culture, employment, sports and infrastructure, coordinated with 101 Neighborhood Safety Committees through Community Plans.
