In the extension of the National School of Higher Studies, in San Miguel de Allende, the ARTE-SANO conference: “Real luxury is handmade” will be discussed, which will address the issue of creative industries in Mexico and the trades that endorse; from the optics and development of the EDMX collective (Mexico Design Meeting).

This, based on the professional work that has been developed for more than five years, in which the creativity and multidisciplinary team work have merged, with the detailed work of artisans from all over the country. In EDMX they have gathered “The know-how, with the know-how to do”.

The conference will be given by Oskar Vázquez Alanís, a lover of the traditions, popular art and cultural heritage of Mexico, who is also the creator of multidisciplinary projects that link traditional trades with the professional design activity.

Director of EDMX (Mexico Design Meeting) and co-founder of Azul Cobalto Estudio Galería in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato. He is a lecturer and has collaborated as a guest professor at (ITESM) Querétaro among other institutions.

Oskar has more than 19 National awards in competitions such as, Design Biennial, Ceramic Biennial and the National Creativity Award.

His career includes 16 individual and collective exhibitions in Mexico, the United States and Spain. On the other hand, he is also considered a creator with a trajectory by the CEARG (Guanajuato Arts Center) and his work is part of the cultural heritage of the people of the Guanajuatense People.
