Guanajuato.- Hoteliers in the state capital expect the trend of the upturn in hotel occupancy to continue, which has increased by up to 50 percent in recent weeks.
This was announced by the President of the Association of Hotels and Motels of Guanajuato, Luis Alberto Espinoza, who pointed out that, compared to the previous month, in June they had 50 percent more occupancy, which closed at an average of 30 percent of the rooms booked in the whole month.
“Tourist activity is increasing in the capital, this weekend there was a lot of movement, the average occupancy of the hotels closed at 50-60 percent, while June closed at 30 percent,” Espinoza said.
He pointed out that the expectation for the month of July is 50 percent average occupancy.
For his part, the president of the Council for Tourism Promotion of the municipality, Javier Pérez, said that they will start with the campaign to promote summer vacations.
He considered that, together, the promotion and the advance in vaccination campaign, are the factors that have benefited the attraction of tourism to the city.
“We have been doing promotion in conjunction with the State Secretariat of Tourism, this is bringing more people to the destination, on the other hand, the vaccination process is greater, this makes more people come, there is already more confidence and a higher percentage of vaccinated people, there is a good outlook for the summer “
Finally, he pointed out that so far little more than 30 percent of the resource they have has been used to promote the city as a tourist destination.
