San Miguel de Allende.- At the request of chambers and associations, the interim municipal president, Gonzalo González, proposed to the City Council the adaptation of municipal regulations that allow to contribute to the economic reactivation, speed up the regularization of establishments and provide greater security to the Sanmiguelenses.

The plenary session of the City Council approved the amendment to the Regulation of the Territorial Code for the Municipality that will allow generating a regularization program for existing establishments and granting legal certainty to small entrepreneurs.

As support to the productive sectors, they will be able to obtain the proof of land use free of charge and carry out the procedures through a single window coordinated by the Directorate of Economic Development, International Relations, and NGOs. The program will come into effect from its publication in the Official Newspaper of the State of Guanajuato, until September 30.

Currently, in San Miguel de Allende there are 659 establishments regularized by the Urban Development and Historic Center and Heritage directorates, while around 1,341 are pending regularization.

“It is a very important step that positions San Miguel de Allende as one of the friendliest cities in terms of procedures to regularize a business, this will put us in a position of impressive competitiveness,” said Benigno Torres, president of the Business Coordinating Council from San Miguel de Allende.

The beneficiaries will be only existing establishments, including civil associations, and as a support measure, the proof of land use will be free. The validity of the regularization program will last from the publication of the agreement in the Official Newspaper, until September 30.
