San Miguel de Allende.- The Directorate of Culture and Traditions inaugurated the exhibition ‘Collective San Miguel’ in the art galleries of the Old Municipal Palace, with 36 works by 15 visual artists.
‘Colectiva San Miguel’ is a sample of 36 works by 15 local and international plastic artists who decided to settle in San Miguel de Allende to create their works and bring their talent to the whole world.
The director of Culture and Traditions, Paulina Cadena led the opening of the exhibition with the presence of Francisco Javier Valverde, General Director of Tourism Development of the State of Guanajuato, and some of the invited artists.
One of them, Ana Julia Aguado thanked the direction of Culture and the municipal government for the opportunity to work hand in hand with them and stressed that it would be important to promote the exhibition and hold it every year.
Before cutting the ribbon, they gave recognitions to the artists of the exhibition: Mai Onno, Ana Thiel, Ana Julia Aguado, Alejandra Mendoza, Rocío Gordillo, Alejandro Rivera, Leonardo Díaz, Javier García, Juan Ezcurdia, Keith Miller, Fernando M Díaz, Diana Friedeberg, Ronald Malloy, Carmen Gutiérrez and Pedro Friedeberg.
Paulina Cadena emphasized the importance of the municipal government’s commitment to promoting talent and local plastic art at professional levels to inspire future generations, in order to achieve continuity in one of the strongest artistic expressions in the city of San Miguel de Allende.
