From January 28 to 30, the Guanajuato International Cervantino Festival will carry out these activities with the participation of India.
This 2022, from October 12 to 30, the 50th edition of the Guanajuato International Cervantino Festival will take place, the most relevant in the state and one of the most important for culture globally. This year the country’s guest of honor is Korea and Mexico City the state.
The State Institute of Culture of Guanajuato has prepared a series of activities prior to FIC 50, from January 28 to 30, in which India will participate in its realization. The program was carried out in collaboration with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, the Embassy of India in Mexico, and the Gurudev Tagore Cultural Center of India (Mexico City). These are some of the activities
- Friday 28: from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Macro yoga class taught by Chintapalli Syamala Prasad in the Esplanade of the Alhóndiga. Pre-registration at http://bit.ly/rc50yoga . (It will also be held on January 29 and 30).
11:00 hrs: Inauguration of exhibitions “Stree Drishti. Women Engravers of India”, “Lok Mein Ram. The God Rama among the people”, Collective of the Lalit Kala Academy; “ Sari. The six-yard wonder”, a sample of traditional and contemporary sari at the Museo del Pueblo de Guanajuato.
12:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.: Kalarkruthi, craft and textile bazaar in the Plaza del Baratillo.
8:00 p.m.: Mohabbatein, musical romance directed by Aditya Chopra. Duration: 216 minutes.
- Saturday 29: At 12:00 hrs, Fanna will take place, a drama and suspense piece with a duration of 177 minutes.
- Sunday 30: Flavors of India, gastronomic exhibition in Plaza Baratillo.
10:00 a.m.: Offering to Mahatma Gandhi on the occasion of his 74th death anniversary in the Reforma Garden.
12:00 hrs: Classical dances of India by the Gudurev Tagore Cultural Center of India, will be performed at the Cervantes Theater.
