San Miguel de Allende.- The promotion and tourism strategy implemented by the Municipal Government, headed by Mauricio Trejo, has begun to yield results.
The city had a successful long weekend, with thousands of tourists coming to enjoy its attractions, resulting in a hotel occupancy record of 80%.
On Saturday, March 19th, the city reached almost its maximum capacity with 99.98% and on Sunday the 20th it closed with 70.95% occupancy.
The restaurants reported a significant increase in sales that had not been recorded since the start of the pandemic.
An economic spill of 33.4 million pesos was achieved, which benefited the entire tourism industry of the municipality, which registered an average daily expense of $2,134.00 pesos per visitor.
Another fundamental point is that once again a ‘white balance’ was recorded in terms of security, since a municipal operation was deployed in coordination with other corporations, to preserve public order and peace among locals and visitors.
San Miguel has positioned itself as a World-Class tourist destination with its famous and iconic Parish of San Miguel Arcángel, its cobbled stone streets, mansions, galleries, art or museums, ecotourism activities, vineyards, and haciendas, among others.
