The 2022 edition of ” Kids First ” is ready to help several children from San Miguel and improve their quality of life.

This medical day of free surgeries was promoted by the Municipal Government headed by Municipal President Mauricio Trejo and the San Miguel DIF directed by Brisa Calderón Rosales, together with the ‘Kids First’ Foundation. It will benefit children suffering from any congenital malformations of the limbs, pes valgus, congenital hip dislocation, equine foot, polydactyly, or shortening due to burns.

Kids First have limited space

‘Kids First’ manages a quota limited to 100 patients, who will be evaluated on May 22 at CAISES San Miguel de Allende and 25 of them will be accredited to receive one of the surgeries offered scheduled from May 23 to 25, at the General Hospital ‘Felipe G. Dobarganes’.

‘Kids First’ is a US foundation. Professional American doctors specializing in these conditions, donate their time and resources to travel to San Miguel. For its part, the Municipal Government, through the DIF San Miguel de Allende and the Directorate of Economic Development, International Relations, and NGOs, facilitate their mobility upon arrival in Mexico and their stay in the territory of San Miguel.

“We give the doctors lodging, transportation, food, which is our way of giving back to those who come to give us free surgeries… we give them everything from the moment they arrive, they have transportation, the houses where they are going to stay, etc. ”, explained Calderón Rosales.

In addition, the Municipality supports the selected children and the doctors with procedures to cover hospitalization, pre-and post-hospital follow-up, as well as for international travel permits for doctors and for the transfer of medications, orthopedic devices, and fees for translation agents.

By facilitating the conditions for children in San Miguel to have free access to professional health services through ‘Kids First’, the Municipal Government encourages people in San Miguel de Allende to be better every day.
