Pass Automotive Mexico will start manufacturing auto parts in Irapuato, Guanajuato

The general director of Pass Automotive Mexico confirmed that the plant located in the Apolo industrial park will be expanded.

Irapuato, Guanajuato.- Irapuato will start producing car parts for electric vehicles by the end of 2022. The expansion of the plant at Apolo Park has been announced by Stephan Matz, general director of Pass Automotive Mexico. The first step has been taken in this process to elaborate the components of these units that will be exported to the United States. 100 persons will be employed as a result of this initiative.

“We are prepping the facility for new Tesla lines; we will soon begin producing Tesla auto parts. We began production in November of this year”, according to Stephan Matz, general director of Pass Automotive Mexico.

Plan for plant expansion
The machinery for a new production line of auto parts for electric vehicles that will be exported to Austin, Texas, in the United States, will be installed in the factory premises located at the Apolo industrial park during the expansion, which will take place in a space of 4,000 square meters.

The expansion would involve an expenditure of several million US dollars in machinery, production lines, equipment, and industrial structures, it will be carried out this year and the following year.

According to Stephan Matz, the expansion initiative may involve employing staff. 130 employees already work in the different departments at the Pass Automotive facility in Irapuato, and for the first stage of expansion, hiring has already started. It is anticipated that 50 people will be hired, with the potential for up to 100 new direct positions in the second and third phases.
