Mexico’s Landscape Masters at the Querétaro Art Museum
The Querétaro Art Museum (MAQRO) presents the collective exhibition Poetics of Contemplation.
The National Museum of Art (MUNAL) sent a selection of 21 emblematic pieces by the best Mexican landscape artists, the “Landscape Masters”, led by José María Velasco, Gerardo Murillo (Dr. Atl), and Joaquín Clausell.
As well as Cleofas Almanza, Francisco de Paula Mendoza, and Armando García Nuñez.
The exhibition, belonging to the collection of the National Museum of Art (MUNAL), portrays different landscapes of Mexico from the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century, a time when our country underwent significant political and social transformations in a very short time.
The collection leaves CDMX for the first time and will remain at the Querétaro Art Museum (MAQRO) until February 20, 2023.
