Sapasma announced the drilling of new wells as a measure that seeks to solve the problem of arsenic in wells in San Miguel de Allende.

San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato.- Arsenic contamination of the water well that supplies the Laguna Escondida community led to the announcement of a new well that will also supply two other communities.

The beneficiaries are from Laguna Escondida , El Huizachal and Corralejo de Arriba ; The Drinking Water and Sewerage System ( Sapasma ) announced the drilling of new wells as a measure that seeks to solve the problem that communities face regarding the lack of water in the region.

This involves the drilling of a new well in another part of the town, since the water from the current well has high levels of arsenic contamination.

Municipal authorities visited El Huizachal, a community that has been without service for more than a year; Thus, Sapasma personnel announced the drilling work for the new well, which will supply the families of this community for the next 35 years.

In response, Francisco Campos, from El Huizachal, said “It is the best news that could have been given to us here in the community since we were going through a really difficult situation because we were left without a water supply, so he came to visit us and give us the great news that we have been waiting for for a long time.
