With a full main square in León, the third march for democracy took place, on Sunday, February 18th, with which a preliminary estimate of 6 thousand people.

According to Gustavo Guraieb, the representative of Marea Rosa in Guanajuato (an association that organized these marches throughout the country), the response was very positive and they left satisfied with the participation that the citizens showed.

I have pointed out that these marches were at the level of the previous ones where the slogan is clear: defend democracy, the autonomy of institutions such as the INE or the IANI, and the Legislative and Judicial Branch, as well as promote active participation in the upcoming June elections that will set the course of the country for the next 6 years.

The demonstrator left the Arco de la Calzada at 11 in the morning along Madero Street and headed to the main square of León in front of the Municipal Presidency where they arrived around 11:30 in the morning. and many more people arrived at the site until noon.

Between shouts like “Defend the INE”, “López Out” or “The INE will not be touched” was how the protesters expressed their desire for the democracy that has been built in Mexico to remain intact.
