León and San Miguel de Allende, official venues of the Festival of Arts, Sciences and Humanities

León, Gto.- From April 24 to 28, 2024, the ninth edition of the Festival of Arts, Sciences and Humanities (FACH) will be held in the municipalities of León and San Miguel de Allende, with the aim of bringing art closer , science and culture to the most vulnerable populations, especially girls and boys and the general public who do not have easy access to events of this type.

The event has been organized since 2016 by the National School of Higher Studies Unidad León of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), in collaboration with the University of Guanajuato (UG) Campus León, the Center for Research in Optics (CIO), the Forum Cultural Guanajuato, the State Institute of Culture of Guanajuato, through the Wigberto Jiménez Moreno State Central Library, as well as the Municipal Government of León, through the General Directorate of Municipal Education; and the Secretariat of Education of Guanajuato, through Delegation III of León, as well as the Explora Science Center.

San Miguel de Allende will host nine talks, seven artistic activities and two workshops, giving a total of 18 activities. Altogether, 116 activities will be carried out in both cities thanks to the collaboration between all the institutions that make up the festival.

Among the artistic activities, the piano concert by Fernando Saint Martin stands out, which will be held as the inaugural event of the festival on April 24 at 8:00 p.m. in the Mateo Herrera Auditorium of the Forum Cultural Guanajuato, with a prelude program with works by Mexicans Manuel M. Ponce, Blas Galindo, Carlos Chávez, Salvador Contreras, Samuel Zyman and Ricardo Castro.

Admission will be free, with a ticket; Each ticket will be delivered one hour before the concert at the Mateo Herrera Auditorium box office.

Two concerts will also be offered by the Eduardo Mata University Youth Orchestra of the UNAM, which will take place on April 25 at the Ángela Peralta Theater, in San Miguel de Allende, and on April 26 at the Roberto Plasencia Saldaña Bicentennial Theater in Lion; Tickets will cost 50 and 100 pesos on sale at the theater box office.

Other venues designated for this edition in San Miguel de Allende are the Historic Center Kiosk, the San Miguel de Allende Extension Unit of the ENES León UNAM Unit, Municipal Comprehensive Family Development (DIF), Theaters: The Union and Ángela Peralta, Heroínas Insurgentes Primary School and the Center for Industrial and Services Technological Studies CBTIS 60.
