The discovery of two lifeless bodies in different rural communities of San Miguel de Allende caused a great mobilization of security forces in the municipality.

On the morning of Monday, December 9, minutes before 10:00 a.m., residents of Santa Teresita de Don Diego alerted the authorities about what appeared to be a lifeless body wrapped in blankets.

Agents of the Secretariat of Citizen Security arrived at the scene, confirmed the discovery, and notified the State Attorney General’s Office. The agents of the Attorney General’s Office arrived at the site to pick up the package without revealing details about its content.

The alleged body was found wrapped in a blue blanket, near the community’s communications antenna. The Municipal Police cordoned off and guarded the area. Although it was not confirmed that it was a human body, witnesses said that the shape of the bundle suggested limbs, such as arms or legs.

Hours later, another report was received about the presence of one more body in the community of Pantoja, near the La Hormiga bridge, next to the train tracks. This notice caused another mobilization of security officers.

The presence of a body caused a commotion among the residents of Pantoja, who approached the train tracks to verify the information. Elements of the Secretariat of Citizen Security also arrived at the scene and carried out a quick check before leaving.

Although the second report has not been confirmed or denied, at least five Municipal Police patrols and elements of the National Guard remained in the vicinity.
