In a strategic meeting that brought together leaders of the private sector and municipal authorities, President Mauricio Trejo reaffirmed San Miguel de Allende’s commitment to security, tourism development and the well-being of its inhabitants.

The meeting, held in an atmosphere of open dialogue, served to present and discuss the strategies that will consolidate this iconic municipality as a global benchmark.

Cutting-edge Security Strategies

In a challenging national context, San Miguel de Allende has prioritized security as a fundamental pillar. The Secretariat of Citizen Security presented a comprehensive plan based on eight strategic axes:

Comprehensive Prevention of Violence and Crime: Address the root causes of crime through social and educational programs.
Institutional Organization, Strengthening and Consolidation: Optimize the structure and operation of the security forces.
Institutional Transversality in the Fight against Crime: Effective coordination between government agencies.
Use of Technology, Innovation and Artificial Intelligence: Implementation of advanced tools for surveillance and data analysis.
Dignification of the Police Function: Improve working conditions and recognition of agents.
Comprehensive Professionalization of Elements with a Gender and Human Rights Perspective: Continuous and specialized training.
Continuous Certification Program: Guarantee the updating and excellence of security forces.
Comprehensive Risk Management in Civil Protection Matters: Effective prevention and response to emergencies.
An important milestone will be the inauguration of the C4 expansion, which will double its capacity with cutting-edge technology. In addition, the Police Academy is moving towards category A certification, which will allow it to train police officers from other municipalities.

Global Tourism Projection and Cultural Development
San Miguel de Allende not only focuses on security, but also seeks to project its greatness to the world. The “San Miguel around the World” campaign will bring the city’s name to key destinations such as Dallas and New York, consolidating it as a luxury and cultural destination.

The cultural offering will be enriched by the arrival of the exhibition “The Diary of Anne Frank”, an event that will promote historical reflection and the values of tolerance. The return of the Tourism Council will boost the development of wine tourism, business tourism and, soon, medical tourism.

Social Investment and Commitment to the Community

The commitment to the people of San Miguel is materialized in an investment of 500 million pesos in public spaces, culture and sports. These actions seek to strengthen social cohesion and prevent youth violence. “Safety begins at home,” emphasized the mayor, recalling the importance of education and prevention.

Collaboration and Shared Vision

The private sector has recognized the importance of constant dialogue with the authorities. Francisco Aguirre, president of Canirac, highlighted that security is a key factor for tourism success. Martha Rocío López Galván, president of Aoresma, underlined the importance of collaboration between the private sector and the government.
