The Organization of World Heritage Cities released the fourth edition of the international video production competition entitled “My City: Our World Heritage”.
This competition is intended for young people of two age groups:
A) 14 to 17 years old
B) 18 to 21 years old.
Winning participants can win iPads, video cameras, $1,000 or even up to $2,000 USD.
As part of of San Miguel’s 475th anniversary celebration, the “San Miguel de Allende Foundation” and the OWHC are inviting all young people from 14 to 21 years old, who are interested in producing a short film with a maximum duration of five minutes, on the subject of San Miguel’s identity, traditions, roots and people.
In order to participate, 14 to 17-year-old San Miguel residents must present a student’s credential and 18 to 21-year-old must show their INE credential in order to register for the competition.
Participants should upload their short film on YouTube, before June 16, fulfilling the necessary requirements, such as the presence of visual elements of the city, without overloading them with text. For more information, go to the following link: www.sanmigueldeallende.gob.mx
The points to be evaluated are:
- The way the producers handle content, originality and creativity.
- How the footage can raise awareness of care and conservation of San Miguel heritage among young people.
- Number of visits for each video on YouTube.
The different categories will have different prizes, for the category of 14 to 17 years old the prizes are: a 9-inch iPad and one thousand dollars, in addition the first three places will receive a recognition and appear on the official photograph.
For the category of 18 to 21 years old the prizes are: a camcorder or two thousand dollars, along with the recognition and official photograph.
