The director of Urban Development, Abelardo Quero Inzunza, acknowledged that the abandoned real estate development on Calle Stirling Dickinson represents a danger because it can be a source of crime; however, nothing has been done to solve the problem.
Abelardo Quero Inzunza said he will look for the owners to have a rapprochement.
The aforementioned development is located just a few steps from the Real de Minas Hotel not far from the historical center. The buildings are completely abandoned and there is no perimeter fence to prevent people from trespassing, anyone can walk into the area and enter the dwellings.
Quero Inzunza recalled that the development is approximately 10 years old and said: “I do not know why they abandoned the place. Sometimes there are real estate developments that are abandoned because owners are not able to pay for the credit they took to build them, and they have to leave the property as a guarantee to the bank, but we do not know if this is the case. ”
He said he was not aware if that place paid property taxes or not, “but it would be a matter of reviewing it.”
Abelardo Quero said that it is not an obligation of the municipality to find out what happened to that property, “but it would be interesting to look for the owners, see why it is abandoned and what can be done about it,” he concluded.
None of the Calle Stirling Dickinson residents have absolutely any idea on what happened to that building.
