– If you want to eat with good live jazz, you need to go to Tio Lucas Restaurant.

– The Fábrica la Aurora is just a 15-minuteswalk from downtown, and the place boasts a good number or art galleries featuring the work of local artists as well as amazing stores and a couple of restaurants.

– Ask for the tram service to get to know the city.

– It is worth to hire a guided walking tour. Take into account that this city is considered a World Heritage Site by Unesco. You will be able to admire its architectural and historical beauty first hand! The unidisputed best walking tour in town is guided by Mr. Joseph Toone (Click here to contact Joseph).

– If you want to go to Europe but do not have money, San Miguel de Allende is the right place for a simulation… but even better, because you have the kindness and warmth of Mexicans.

– The restaurants and eateries at the craft market of San Miguel, are excellent options to try “real” Mexican street food (at your own risk of contracting the Montezuma’s Revenge (La Venganza de Moctezuma Xocoyotzin).

– Comfortable walking shoes are a must in SMA, since you can get to know everything by foot!

– Most of the year San Miguel de Allende has mild weather conditions, not too hot, not too cold; not to humid, not to dry; not too high, not to low. You can put on your swimsuit and take a dip into swimming pools or natural hot springs nearby. But do not forget to pack a sweater for later in the evening.

– During the winter, especially from November to February, the weather is a bit colder and it is advisable to bring jackets.

– Take a walk around the Andador Lucas Balderas, which is just behind the Crafts market, it is a time-travelling experience that will show you how people used to live and interact in this town back in the XVII Century.

– To get to San Miguel de Allende by bus from CDMX: From Central del Norte you can take ETN, Primera Plus, Omnibus de México, Flecha Amarilla and Herradura de Plata; there are luxury, first and second class buses.

– The natural hot spring waters’ spa area is located at the exit to the Dolores Hidalgo road, the most recommended are Taboada and La Gruta.

San Miguel de Allende is a beautiful city, but because a lot of foreign tourists arrive, the prices are a little higher than elsewhere in Guanajuato. Take this point into account when you’re planning your trip and setting up your budget.
