Restaurenteurs of San Miguel issued a statement on Monday August 12th, 2019, indicating that a publication posted on Excelsior on Friday August 9th, stating that restaurants and bars are being extorted in SMA, is false.
In relation to the fake news published 10 days ago in a newspaper of national circulation, the owners of the San Miguel de Allende businesses that subscribed to this statement, categorically affirm that we have not been victims of any kind of extortion, and we do not know any local restauranteur that has gone through this situation in our beautiful tourist destination.
We reiterate that any group or person that dare to undertake any type of illegal action against one of our businesses, will be immediately denounced and / or consigned to the corresponding authorities.
We invite all our clients and visitors to continue enjoying one of the most beautiful places in Mexico and the world, San de Miguel de Allende.
Sophia Huett, Commissioner of the Analysis and Strategy Unit for Citizen Security of the state of Guanajuato, published this same image on her Twitter account, also on Monday August 12th.
