Six members of a cell of the Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG) cartel that also operated in Celaya and the state of Querétaro were arrested in the municipality of San Miguel de Allende.
The detainees are Edwin Jonathan, Jorge Alberto, Emilio, Jovana Kimberly, José Enrique and César Ernesto, reported the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE).
Elements of the Criminal Investigation Agency raided a property in the Santa Cruz de la Paz neighborhood, where the criminal cell operated, it said.
“During the operation, firearms, live cartridges, ammunition, drug doses, a vehicle and the arrest of six people were achieved,” it said.
It added that the Public Ministry put together the corresponding investigation files and the detainees were placed at the disposal of a judge.
“These arrests shed light on multiple criminal events – homicides – that occurred recently in the municipalities and state mentioned,” he said.
