Live Aqua San Miguel de Allende obtains LEED Gold Certification

It stands out for its energy efficiency and low consumption of potable water, which compared to buildings with similar characteristics, is 28% less.

Live Aqua San Miguel de Allende recycles 27% of the waste generated by its operation.

The Live Aqua San Miguel de Allende hotel, operated by Posadas, stands out as a property with sustainable attributes by demonstrating a consumption of potable water 28% below other buildings comparable in size and occupancy.

With regard to energy efficiency, the hotel uses 86% less energy than buildings with the same characteristics. It also highlights the use of refrigerants that are 100% free of chlorofluorocarbons, thus minimizing the environmental impact on the ozone layer.

Given these sustainable characteristics, the hotel obtained the LEED Gold Certification under version 4.1 of the LEED O+M system for existing buildings.

The recognition, granted by the USGBC Green Building Council emphasizes the hotel’s approach to sustainability, energy efficiency, and the well-being of its visitors.

“The certification is a reflection of the efforts of our entire team to create a healthy, efficient, and environmentally responsible space. Our purpose is to make the world a better place to travel and this begins with our commitment to the sustainability of each of our hotels,” said Enrique Calderón, Vice President of Operations at Posadas.

He added, through a statement, that this certification is proof of leadership in creating responsible and planet-friendly experiences.

Not only does the hotel excel in energy efficiency, but also in indoor environmental quality.

It has a mechanical and natural ventilation system that ensures fresh air in all its areas, ensuring that 88% of guests are satisfied with the air quality, cleanliness, and thermal comfort.

Posadas operates 197 hotels and 29,767 rooms owned, leased, franchised, and managed in the most visited city and beach destinations in Mexico.

86% of the rooms are located in city destinations and 14% in beach destinations. It operates brands such as Live Aqua Beach Resort, Curamoria Collection, Grand Fiesta Americana, and Fiesta Americana, among others.
