San Miguel de Allende hosts an important journalism seminar.
On Friday, November 15, and Saturday, November 16, the municipality of San Miguel de Allende started the Seminar-Workshop (ST) Journalism in Times of Chaos, taught by Javier Moreno, Director of the Master in Journalism at the Autonomous University of Madrid/El País.
This is a space in which reflection will be carried out, and practical exercises will be carried out, on the conjunction between criminal violence in Mexico, the impotence of the State in the face of this phenomenon, as well as the capacities and limitations of the exercise of journalism in this regard.
Participants will be able to delve deeper into these crucial issues for the future of democracy in Mexico, through talks and practical workshops, considering the following:
Programmatic lines
Construction of a personal and professional narrative in the face of the story of the authorities and other interested parties.
Maintaining a voice in an increasingly atomized, noisy, and fake news-ridden journalistic landscape.
Addressing the disinformation and obscurity of the State and its various agencies – intelligence services, the Army, the police.
Delving into the responsibility of information: context, narrative density, sensitivity.
The importance of telling stories that not only inform but also generate changes in society.
