Justin Trudeau declares Mexican cartels terrorists; Sheinbaum responds.
As part of the agreements to stop the United States tariffs against Canada, Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister, declared Mexican cartels terrorists and said he would name a “fentanyl czar.”
He pointed out that permanent surveillance will also be guaranteed on the border with the deployment of almost 10,000 members of the Canadian armed forces, new helicopters, technology, and personnel, which represents an investment of 1.3 billion US dollars.
In this regard, Claudia Sheinbaum, President of Mexico, said that declaring cartels terrorists “does not help in the fight against drug trafficking” and assured that the three countries (Mexico, United States, and Canada), must fight together against organized crime.
