Each January, outstanding youth from all over Latin America come to San Miguel for a youth empowerment program called “Empoderando a Latinoamerica” (empowering Latinamerica). The course inspires and empowers Latin American youth by imparting knowledge and tools to enable them to run social projects, engage in public issues and contribute in an effective manner to the wellbeing of their communities.
Teens between 18 and 24 from various socioeconomic origins, cultures and countries participate in activities designed to make them agents of positive social change with a profound sense of environmental responsibility and commitment to peace and social justice.
The course will hold a forum Saturday, January 14, and Sunday, January 15 with former participants in which successful projects will be featured and analyzed to increase their social impact.
Organizers are seeking host families for these outstanding leaders of the future. If you are interested, please contact Santiago Mendez at [email protected] and see empoderandoalatinoamerica.org
