Megacable invests USD 50 mln in Queretaro FTTH rollout

Mexican cable operator Megacable has invested around USD 50 million to install a new FTTH network in the north-central Mexican state of Queretaro, reports Telesemana, citing figures from local daily Diario de Queretaro.

The network will allow Megacable to bring telephony (VoIP) and pay-TV (IPTV) services via broadband connections of up to 200 Mbps to more than 118,000 users in the capital Santiago de Queretaro.

The service will reach 50 percent of the city in the coming weeks and full coverage by the end of the year, with consumers able to sign up to a package including 20 Mbps broadband, 130 SD channels, 60 HD channels and unlimited calls for MXN 569 pesos per month.
