In support to the teachers of Oaxaca and in rejection to the Educational Reform, dozens of teachers who are active with the National Coordinator of Education Workers (CNTE)  took to the streets of San Miguel de Allende with posters, banners and slogans supporting their fellow union members.

The event was peaceful, demonstrators shouted slogans against President Enrique Peña Nieto and what they called “his repressive government”, and demanded a “true educational reform“.

They also chanted songs and about 20 teachers presented their demands.

The act lasted more than an hour in the main garden of San Miguel, where several people spoke to protest against the goverment, and ask others to join for future action.

In Leon, doctors joined the national strike “#yosoymédico17” and demonstrated outside the City Hall, in rejection to the National Health System.

In addition, doctors at local clinics carried a red and black bow on the sleeve of their robes as a sign of protest.
