On July 8, through a press release, Members of the Citizen Watch (Observatorio Ciudadano), showed their rejection against new real estate projects that are recently emerging in San Miguel de Allende.
Among the new projects and developments that are highlighted in the document are: Splash Water Park, Stone Chapel, Cumbres de San Miguel and Quinta Real, the letter states that no more developments can arise in a city that might be affected by environmental and hydric impact; and also by road and connectivity issues.
Observatorio Ciudadano claims that as never before in the history of the city, an uncontrolled proliferation of so-called estate “developments” in different parts of the municipal territory has emerged. This is clearly illegal and incompatible with the true sustainable development we want for San Miguel de Allende.
