The government of SMA supports students with scholarships

SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE, Gto.- The government of SMA will support 87 High school and College students with 0 75 to 100% scholarships. In order to help students from Guanajuato to stay at school and continue their studies.

This achievement of the government and universities was reached with the sum of wills.

The mayor of SMA, Ricardo Villarreal said: “in the municipality, 40 percent of adults did not complete the primary level and about 60,000 San Miguelenses have not finished high school, because 20 years ago in SMA there were no universities. However, the things in our city are changing, right now.”

Villareal said: “I am convinced we will build a better society, the government is committed with the education of the children and young people of San Miguel”.

María del Refugio Dolores Rosales, city hall officer, informed that the “Instituto San Miguelense”, “UDL”, “Grupo Educativo IMEI”, “Centro de Estudios Superiores Allende” and Allende University, have signed an educational agreement with the municipal government to provide excellence scholarships of up to 100 % and economical support of  25 – 50% in school tuitions for local students.

The scholarships will be granted based on a socioeconomic study and an average grade of 8.5 for students from public schools, such as CBTIS and CECyTE.

According to the test results, students enrolled can keep the scholarships throughout his college career.
