The 5th Edition of the International Beer Festival in SMA

Edgar Mercado, Michoacan businessman and main organizer announced that from Friday 26 to Sunday 28 August 2016, “the Fifth Edition of the International Beer Festival” will be celebrated in the recently named by Travel + Leisure as best city in Latin American and the third in the world: “SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE, GUANAJUATO”.

This event has been conceived as “where it all began” (donde todo comenzó) during the First International Beer Festival in Morelia, Michoacán in May 2011 (turning point of the microbrewery industry and craft beer festivals across the country). This year, the beer celebration reaches its fifth edition led by Edgar Mercado and Esteban Alvarez.

The amenities of this important event are the exhibition, tasting and sale of national and international craft beers and educational programs, such as “responsible consumption”, “intelligent consumption” and “marriage”.

The Michoacan beers elaborated by “CERARMICH association” and “ACERMICH group” will make us enjoy a range of colors, textures, smells and flavors. Besides, many local craft beers will be participating in this edition.

Other associations that will be participating are: “APROCEG producers association of brewers of Guanajuato”, producers of the state of Mexico, Jalisco, San Luis Potosi, as well as distributors and importers, although some of them are yet to be confirmed.

Additionally, the traditional cuisine of Michoacán will be represented by famous traditional cook: Rosalba Morales Bartolo, who lives in the lake region of Patzcuaro, an internationally recognized gastronomic center. Morales Bartolo has been invited to Italy and other countries as Mexican traditional cuisine representative.

International cuisine will be present too, with the Uruguayan Original Choripan, prepared by Uruguayan chef Ricardo Aostalli, , who began as a culinary nomad on the third annual International Beer Festival of Morelia; and now travels throughout the Mexican territory attendng beer festivals and other events.

Other attracions of this fifth edition of the International Beer Festival are:

  • Food trucks featuring gourmet cuisine
  • Mezcaleros from Michoacán and a
  • DJs Line UP for an electronic music party.
