A shooting on “Solidaridad Boulevard”, in the northeast of Irapuato, Guanajuato; resulted in two people dead, one more kidnapped, and several others with nervous breakdowns.
The incident took place on Tuesday January 17 at 11:55 am inside “The Italian Coffee” cafeteria, then gunmen continued shooting over at the “Holiday Inn Express” parking lot and finally fled the scene, apparetly taking one hostage, and headed in the direction to León, on “Solidaridad Boulevard”.
Two vehicles parked were also damaged: a silver-colored Volkswagen Vento, and a Ford Escape SUV.
Municipal Law Enforcement agents cordoned off the “Holiday Inn Express” parking lot and closed the two-lane boulevard, to conduct a crime scene investigation. Later, the area was secured by State Urban Police personnel and Ministerial Police officers.
