According to for Querétaro’s newspaper AM, the Mexican animation and digital art studio “Huevocartoon” will install their new headquarters in Querétaro, with a total investment of 160 million pesos (7.8 million USD), generating 200 direct jobs, and they are planning to release new long-term projects such as the creation of a specialized center of animation where six new projects will be developed.
In an interview, Javier Riva Palacios Alatriste, Huevocartoon CEO, said that they are currently carrying out projects in the United States, where society experiments the “Mexicanphobia”, as Riva Palacios described it.
On March 2017, they will start operating their facilities in the state capital, where they will make two animated films in three years, one of them will be called “Little eggs escaping” (Huevitos en fuga).
In addition they would produce other three films and two animated series for American companies, explained the CEO of the company.
Riva Palacios Alatriste commented that, the studio will be installed on the campus of the Technological Institute of Higher Studies of Monterrey (ITESM), with the goal of training young entrepreneurs helping them to learn new skills and improve their knowledge, Huevo cartoon CEO said they are seeking to have a huge influence on the ITESM students, as well.
In the future, we may build a specialized center in order to train college students from all high education institutions, introducing them to the most innovative animation technologies, so they can develop applications and software.
Huevo cartoon will have presence at other universities, such as the Polytechnic University of Santa Rosa Jauregui, and other institutions from León and México City.
“The Mexican firm decided last year to move their studio from México City to Querétaro, because Querétaro has a higher quality of life, and it is more peaceful”; The CEO stated.
Regarding the political situation with the United States, the Mexican businessman said that there is fear for the threats made by U.S. President Donald Trump, since they have business connections with companies in that country.
He also emphasized that it would not be convenient for the US to stop the having business relations with Mexico.
At the press conference, Francisco Domínguez Servién, Governor of Querétaro, stressed that the arrival of this company means an evolution for the local technology sector, because it is a new business segment for this region.
Domínguez Servién concluded that, at least four companies have announced their arrival to the state of Querétaro.
