Easter Holidays leave 8 bars closed and one ton of beer seized in Guanajuato

GUANAJUATO, Gto – According to a report issued by Guanajuato’s authorities, during Easter Holidays a ton of beer was seized and eight businesses were closed due to different irregularities. 157 people have been arrested for administrative offenses, as well.

At a press conference led by Mayor Edgar Castro, along with Christian Ortiz and Andrei García Irazaba, Directors of Public Security and Control and Inspection, respectively; explained that the number of detainees is similar to the same period last year, and mentioned that “some of the main causes of detention are administrative offenses, such as driving under the influence of alcohol or robberies, among others”.

The Tourism Police reported that, after 1,650 visits to different hotels and hostels no major irregularities were detected, and on the other hand, they have provided information to 3,300 tourists.

Likewise, five breathalyzers operations were carried out, leaving a total of 64 people detianed and fined.

“The Gendarmerie will continue supporting us this week after the Easter holidays to avoid crimes and to strengthen surveillance in the area”, said the official.
